....we thought we’d give Wells a try this year and we happily stumbled across Hideaway Barn and that’s it, we’re hooked. Wells beach is fab and the walk through the pine trees down onto the beach was just lovely.

Places to visit in North Norfolk

There are lots of places to visit & a folder awaits you at the Barn stuffed full of leaflets so you can decide what takes your fancy. If you can tear yourself away from the breathtaking beaches, perhaps a visit to stunning National Trust properties, Blickling Hall & Felbrigg Hall or enjoy the lovely walks though Sheringham Park. For more walks and wildlife visit Norfolk Wildlife Trust's oldest nature reserve at Cley, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve (host of BBC Spring Watch for the several years) and RSPB Titchwell Marsh.

The Dinosaur Park & Bewilderwood (pre-book online to avoid queues at peak times) are a must for children. Take a trip on the North Norfolk Railway (adults & children alike!) - park for free at Holt station and take the return journey by steam or vintage diesel train to Sheringham, making sure you allow time for a wander through Sheringham to the seafront. Spending time in Holt itself is essential if you fancy some retail therapy - you will be spoilt for choice for food but do check out Byfords for a delicious lunch or a slice of their legendary cakes.

On the subject of food, if you feel like travelling a little further afield, why not visit the award winning Wiveton Bell or push the boat out at Michelin starred Morston Hall. And do stop at Cookie's Crab Shop in Cley for gorgeous seafood platters and Wiveton Hall for the best homemade jam & scones around...we could go on!
